The project started in 2017 and the website was launched by the end of that year. The aim of the guide is to provide a useful tool for visitors to learn about lesser-known locations in the GDR which are fading from collective memory. Additionally, the digital guide has been designed as an interactive platform, encouraging those who lived in the GDR to bring their stories to life and share them on the internet.
