The Vajda Lajos Studio was established in 1972 (officially as part of the József Attila Cultural House) as a circle of visual artsists interested in experimental practices. The cohesion of the group originates from the genius loci, their relation to Szentendre and its progressive artistic traditions.

Since 1973 they operate a gallery in a baroque cellar in Szentendre, where they regularly arrange exhibitions, performances, concerts and other related events. During the years several new generations of artists tied to Szentendre joined VLS.

From 1990 VLS functions as an association, independent, but legally more formalized. Vakuf

The word vakuf has its origins in the Arabic veqafe, and it means preserving, keeping, or dedicating. Vakuf is an institution of Islamic law, developed from the 11th to 19th centuries, which in many ways is related to the institution of a charitable foundation in European law. Vakuf means a permanent good that the individual freely provides for the general benefit and use of the community with certain religious, social, educational, economic and charitable goals. The vakuf should be structured so that its benefits are long-lasting and is permanently economically viable.

Venclovas' House-Museum

The Vilnius Directorate of Memorial Museums was established in 2005. The owner of the Venclova House-Museum is the municipality of Vilnius. Since 2005, the Venclova House-Museum has been combined with three other museums, and in this way the Vilnius Directorate of Memorial Museums was founded.

Video Studio Gdańsk

Video Studio Gdansk is an independent production house. It was created in 1981 and since then has been producing independent documentaries and films. In the 1980s VSG’s activity was protected by Catholic Church, what set its subject of interest for many years. VSG’s collaborators disseminated religious videos, but some new films were also made. After 1989 the production house stayed connected to religious subjects, but has been also producing numerous documentaries on the past of democratic opposition and current social problems. Until 2010 Video Studio Gdansk made over 600 video items (TV theatres, reportages, documentaries, etc.). In order to properly archive gathered materials in 2004 Film Archive Foundation “Roads to Solidarity” was established.

Since 2008 Video Studio Gdansk has been cooperating with European Solidarity Centre (ECS). Institutions completed numerous films together, e.g. some of the ECS’s notations.
